Marti Stany, LCSW

I teach and facilitate ALIVENESS. I am passionate about creating safer spaces to support people in doing brave healing work. My friends and colleagues say that I’m the perfect mix of science and “woo” due to my creative curiosity and scholarly love of research (and perpetual “student status”). This means I’m an out-of-the-box/office therapist who loves to integrate innovative ways to support my client’s growth and highest potential. This includes honoring the gifts of nature and wisdom of indigenous healing traditions from around the globe. 
I retired from 21 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army, supporting the mental health of military members on and off the battlefield. This gave me the critical understanding of the complexities of psychological pain, including trauma, various mental health conditions, and chronic stress.
 
Several years ago, Marti began collaborating with trauma-informed bodyworkers to develop a more holistic and robust path for healing. Her client’s compelling results lead her to partner with Connie to make this mind-body healing journey available to more people.
 
My approach is trauma-informed and somatic-focused. Safety is foundational, and the body’s wisdom always leads the work. I am influenced by my teachers, who are leaders in the trauma and sexuality fields. Ultimately, I am most inspired and impacted by the clients who I have served over the years. I am honored and humbled to walk alongside, witnessing their courageous healing journeys. My heart is filled with gratitude for their lessons that enable me to do this work inspired by purpose. 
 
I am currently based in San Antonio, TX, and work virtually with clients in multiple locations. I collaborate with other professionals to create unique experiential healing opportunities that change lives!
